Holbox
HOLBOX (MEANS BLACK HOLE IN MAYA)
To go to Holbox, if you are in Playa del Carmen, Cancun or Tulum, you must take the toll road to Chiquila where you will then take a ferry or boat to cross.
Typical cuisine: Fish and seafood, fish empanada, Holbox lobster, seafood pizza.

ACTIVITIES IN HOLBOX
Classic Tour: Isla Pájaros, Isla Pasión and Cenote Yalahau
A pleasant boat ride around the small islands surrounding Holbox with bird watching: “chimays” (cormorants) and white and grey pelicans; reptiles: iguanas and crocodiles and even dolphins in the wild. Depending on the season, you can also see pink and white flamingos.
On Isla Pasión you can enjoy the view of the incredible sandbanks. On Isla Pájaros you can delight in the great variety of birds that live there.
And then we take you to Yala-Hau, a small freshwater spring where you can swim and enjoy the healthy and healing benefits of this mystical eye of water, which gives Holbox its name, which in Mayan means “black hole”.
The Whale Shark Swim Tour Pick up is done 30 minutes before departure so that clients can have their coffee during the briefing. Then we take a boat for an hour and a half to Cabo Catoche to see the Whale Shark and swim with it, where the waters of the Gulf of Mexico meet those of the Caribbean Sea. At noon we enjoy a ceviche and finally, we return to Holbox either by the beach or by the river, depending on the wind and tide conditions.
